
Starting January 6th class will meet 9-3:00 Tuesdays for 13 weeks
This class is suitable for the novice and part time maker and everyone in-between to gain understanding of essential woodworking skills in furniture making .
To begin, the class will introduce the basic hand tool skills required to layout and cut accurately . Then the introduction of machine operation, setup and the use of jigs and fixtures . During this course you will gain the skills to build tables and case pieces. The class will be building a shaker nightstand and a Krenov cabinet on stand.
Applicants must meet the following prerequisites :
Applicant must be able to follow written and verbal instruction and be physically capable of lifting materials weighing 50 lbs. Students must be capable to move and work safely in a shop equipped with professional power tools. Additional required competencies are the ability to use a tape measure, hand saw, chisel and be able to stand at a workbench for hours a day.
